Join your hosts Therese Shechter and Tanya Williams and our fabulous New York community (and special guests!) to share stories, win some raffle goodies, and enjoy a signature cocktail or two…or three. Plus, you’ll have an opportunity to learn more about Therese’s in-progress documentary My So-Called Selfish Life and how you can lend your support. Anyone who identifies with and/or supports the childfree choice is welcome at Happy Hour.

Botanica Bar at 47 E Houston St, New York is a low-key spot in Soho with happy hour drink specials and a special signature cocktail designed just for us! Conveniently located near three subway stations: Broadway/Lafayette B/D/F/M, Prince St R, and Bleeker St. 6 trains.


Happy Hour is free to attend!

All we ask is that you RSVP below. There will be a cash bar and we’ll provide some light snacks. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about the upcoming documentary My So-Called Selfish Life and send some support its way. For starters, all proceeds from our signature cocktail and raffle tickets will go directly to the project!

Therese Shechter is the director of the in-progress documentary My So-Called Selfish Life. A filmmaker and writer based in Brooklyn, her work fuses humor and personal storytelling to disturb what's considered most sacred about womanhood. Her most recent film was How To Lose Your Virginity about the mythology and misogyny around our most precious gift. Therese has written about the childfree experience, for publications including Self, Real Simple, Topic, Bust and The Nib. Find more of her work at Trixie Films.

 

Tanya Williams is the author of Amazon No 1 Best Selling book A Childfree Happily Ever After and founder of the Childfree Choices Program. As a childfree advocate, her message is focused on the C-word – CHOICE! Her aim is to change the conversation and dialogue in society around childfree people from one of judgment and criticism to that of support and acceptance. Her she is a strong believer in women making their own rules in life and her personal mantra is Never Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle.
